currently viewing: Le Chateau du Moulinsart/Marlinspike Hall/Cheverny The first of selected photographs from our recent trip to London, Paris and the Loire Valley. On the second to last day of our trip I ventured to the Chateau de Cheverny, whose central nodes were the inspiration for Marlinspike Hall in Herge's Tintin books. This is of note as Herge was recently (posthumously) honoured with a "Light of Truth" award to his character Tintin, presented by the Dalai Lama, for Herge's comic album, 'Tintin in Tibet', which was published in 1959, the year China annexed Tibet by force. I have always loved the Tintin books and that book is one of my favourites. Visiting Cheverny, which is amazing for many reasons aside from its connection with the world of Tintin, was a real treat.
